LENA UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
💥 FOSTER-FAIL No. 7 !!!
We rescued beautiful, bouncing bundle of boundless boisterousness ‘Lena’ from the pound in April 2022. Lena was very frightened of water, so we suspect she was washed away in the floods and never claimed.
Although her foster-carer had only ever had small dogs, over a 16-month period, Lena slowly but surely pulled on her heart-strings and demonstrated what a lovely sweet companion she could be while simultaneously keeping the family safe with her watch-dog capabilities.
Dog adoptions are at an all time low. With so many members of our communities suffering grief and trauma following the fires, the floods, the covid and the rise in cost of living, pets are also suffering the consequences.
Although we have now lost seven fabulous foster-carers to foster fails (just in the last two months), we are tickled pink that those seven dogs are enormously loved, cared for and homed.
🙏 WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU, IF YOU FEEL YOU COULD WELCOME A DOG IN NEED INTO YOUR HOME. Please contact Shell on 0458461935.
