HUGO (was LUCKY) UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
Now 1-year-old, Hugo is the last pup to be adopted from the litter of six rescued from the Border Ranges National Park where they were shamefully dumped and abandoned as 6-8 week old puppies.
Georgia and daughter Shivani kindly offered to foster Lucky (now Hugo) even though they were victims of the 2022 floods, residing in temporary housing 🙏
As Hugo developed, we suspected his unusual gait showed signs of hip problems and X-rays confirmed hip dysplasia.
Luckily for Hugo, his foster carers had become entirely enamoured of his quirky chatterbox personality and decided to adopt him. We waived his adoption fee, purchased him some bone/ligament support supplements, and will cover the cost of his first round of cartrophen injections when he needs further support.
Meantime, Hugo is living a charmed life and we are incredibly grateful to Shivani and Georgia for loving and caring for a dog who truly needs that championing 👍💓
5½-month-old male Kelpie Cattle Staffy; ‘Lucky’ is one of the pups rescued from the Border Ranges National Park after the young litter were dumped and abandoned into a sure-death situation.
Lucky is now a healthy, happy, very sweet-natured and loving boy who is gaining tons of confidence residing at our open-air shelter.
Lucky will need ongoing training, an active lifestyle and we definitely recommend crate-training as a way to combat separation anxiety and the current destructive period that pups undergo.
Lucky is gorgeous with young children, great with other dogs and cats. He has also lived beside enclosed chickens.
If you have the wherewithal and time to put into an active intelligent pup, please contact Shell on 0458461935.
