ELLIE UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED
In our original profile post for 2.9yo female Jack Russell ‘Ellie’, we asked if anyone had the courage to take on the troubled, dominant, prey-driven and feisty little rascal.
Marie had previously had large breed dogs, had the time and wherewithal to put into Ellie and felt brave enough to take on the challenge.
That was over 3 months ago and there have definitely been moments where Marie thought she may have to throw in the towel. She persevered however, developed strategies to manage Ellie’s testing and errant behaviours and has nurtured a beautiful, respectful and loving relationship with the little scallywag.
Ellie is no longer on anti-anxiety meds; she is positively beaming, enjoys daily romps at her local beach park and thoroughly enjoys calm time at home with her mum.
Well done Marie! So happy to see you and Ellie enjoying 👏🙏♥️
2½-year-old desexed female Jack Russell Terrier ‘Ellie’ is looking for a new home.
Ellie is a very spirited, stubborn yet sweet, little rascal.
Sadly, Ellie suffered through the ordeal and stress of the Lismore floods including the loss of her home and the resulting instability and uncertainty. All that trauma has settled into Ellie and consequently she suffers from anxiety, confusion and edginess. She is also a dog-dominant little girl who needs a confident, loving yet firm guardian who can help her enjoy more fun and gentle, supervised socialisation. She’s far from silly though, and will submit to larger stronger dogs.
Ellie has a strong prey drive and will chase cats, chickens and wildlife. Due to her nerviness, we would not currently recommend her with young children.
She will do well with someone who knows the Jack Russell-type breed and can offer her some dedicated training.
Ellie certainly has the potential to become a positively entertaining and loving companion in the right, calm and confident environment. Please contact Shell on 0458461935 if you have the wherewithal and courage to take on this feisty little girl.
