ROSIE & ONSLOW UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

6½yo Jack Russell ‘Rosie’ and 9½yo JR x Foxy ‘Onslow’ were assessed as sweet little terrors. They had received very little training, discipline or socialisation in their loved-up lives, but both adored humans and lots of attention.

Unable to rehome them together, we split them up knowing they would thrive with plenty of devoted love and time from their new companions.

We made two older gentlemen extremely happy and both Rosie and Onslow have settled in even better than our expectations.

Rosie loves David and they spend heaps of time together; walking, beaching, visiting their local markets and snuggling up together on these cold nights. Rosie now comes when called 👏 and her dog reactivity is definitely on the improve.

Onslow is as happy as Larry with new dad Joseph. He has a wonderful big fenced yard to sniff around in, then charges through the doggy-door to sit next to Joseph where they both enjoy watching telly. Separated from Rosie, Onslow has become a darling little angel. Joseph was adamant that Onslow would have to sleep in his own new bed. During night one, Onslow sneakily jumped up and snuggled quietly next to Joseph… he now sleeps with Joseph every night and is even allowed to occasionally slip under the covers on these chilly nights 😆

Happy happy 👌💖

ROSIE & ONSLOW ADOPTION

Rosie – 6.3-year-old desexed female Jack Russell (MC: 900164001290038)

Onslow – 9.6-year-old desexed male Miniature Fox Terrier (MC: 900006000250381)

Initially, we’ll be looking for a single home for these two little sweet characters whose adoring dad sadly passed away (and Rosie and Onslow have been companions for their whole lives).

If we cannot home them together, consideration will be given to splitting them up, simply because they are both quite independent and love lots of human attention more than anything else.

Neither dog is a hunter and once they’ve alerted you to visitors or passing walkers, dogs or noisy birds, they quieten down quickly.

They have not been socialised with other dogs (apart from friend’s dogs) and Rosie can be quite reactive. Both Rosie and Onslow seem to be suffering from some anxiety/insecurity, possibly due to the departure of their loving dad. Fortunately, they are being beautifully cared for in their own home by long-time friends Stephen & Boof.

We are hopeful they will settle down once they’re enjoying a stable and loving permanent home. They will need a fenced yard and folk who can give them lots of attention.
