PIPPA – PRIVATE ADOPTION
Reason for rehoming:
I’m moving to Melbourne and will be working full time. The city will not suit my beautiful girl in any way.

Pippa is a 2-year-old desexed female Border Collie x Kelpie.
STRENGTHS:
– Loves people, young and old!
– Super playful and goofy
– Very loving and sweet
– Very smart and well trained – knows heaps of commands and loves to do tricks
– Will usually stop barking when asked, stays in doors and just sleeps and chills when left alone
– Doesn’t bark back at dogs barking in the neighbourhood
– Doesn’t shed much fur, hardly ever smells and is the picture of health
CHALLENGES:
– She used to be so social and friendly with dogs but had traumatic event with a dog at a dog park and is now dog reactive within 20m of a strange dog
– Sometimes tries to chase cars if she’s within 5m of one going over 50km
– She’s medicated for anxiety (to help with retraining her anxiety around dogs)
– Has been trained with positive reinforcement methods and would need this to either be continued around dogs or to manage the reactivity by avoiding other dogs
DESIRED NEW HOME:
– Doesn’t have a yard where Pip might see other dogs walking past every day – she wouldn’t cope well with this
– No other animals
– Fenced yard is a must
– Enough time and energy to walk her and play with her and love her
Pippa’s yearly vaccinations are up to date, flea and worm treated once a month.
