DAISY UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

FOSTER-FAIL no. 6 🫢😆

We rescued highly traumatised 2yo Bull Arab ‘Daisy’ from the pound, where she was displaying inordinate fear of humans, particularly men.

Daisy thoroughly enjoyed some time in foster-care, then came into heat and had to move to our open-air shelter. When Jenny & Neil came to meet some of our dogs, they shared a soft-spot for Daisy, so we pounced!! 😆 We disclosed (begged) to Jenny & Neil, who live on a beautiful, somewhat remote hinterland property, that Daisy’s continuing rehabilitation would benefit hugely from being in tender loving foster-care.

With some trepidation, but with huge open hearts, they offered to help and took Daisy in. She joined the rest of the crew; the cat, Missy the old brown Lab and Buzz the little Jack Russell.

Although rather challenging, due to her size, strength and vigour, Daisy settled in beautifully and soon Neil was regaling us with lovely stories about Daisy’s attempts to be a lap dog and how she possesses the most beautiful, soft soul of any dog they had ever helped/homed.

Daisy has now been spayed and adopted, and we are so incredibly grateful to Jenny and Neil for offering her such a loving and safe haven 🙏💓

🌸Check out this gorgeous happy happy girl!!🌸

We rescued 2½-year-old female Bull Arab ‘Daisy’ from the pound. She had been abandoned and presented as emaciated, shut-down and extremely traumatised, yet very sweet natured and friendly with other dogs.

The rangers did a wonderful job of helping Daisy come out of her shell and fed her up big time. She is now in the care of her saviour BDR foster-carers James & Kellen  🙏🙏

Daisy’s road to recovery is progressing at an extraordinary rate. She is such a good girl, loves and trusts her gentle carers and has an absolute ball with their two other dogs.

Daisy also spent a few days at Heidi’s Houndstay  🙏  and socialised beautifully with all the dogs in care.

She is fully grown at 29kgs, is sweet, loving and is now such a joyous girl. Daisy is very strong and will need someone who can handle her and continue with some training and socialisation.

She is going to be such a delight as a companion or for a gentle loving family. She will need a little time and patience to adjust to a new situation, as she is still quite wary of strangers. Daisy is currently on heat and will be spayed in early August.
