HONEY & DUSTY UPDATE
Remember little one-eared Honey (the miniature Dachshund) & sweet little Dusty (the Foxie x Staffy)?
Four weeks ago, they were introduced to Natalie & Robert who are back settling in the Shire after being abroad. They were keen to start a doggie family by offering their idyllic countryside home to rescue dogs in need. It was love at first sight.
Honey (now Bunny) & Dusty (now Ona) have successfully been adopted by Natalie & Robert who say: “Life with our girls is amazing, we can’t imagine life without them. They are such a pair, so different but good for each other… they play so well together, always entertaining. They are so well-behaved, we take them everywhere”.
We at Byron Dog Rescue are thrilled for the entire family! What an enchanting new journey little Bunny & Ona have embarked on 🙏💛🐚

Adoption

An unforeseen and challenging change in Dusty & Honey’s owners’ circumstances have led to little Dusty & Honey needing to find a new loving home/s. They are both very affectionate and excellent with children.

Ideally, we’d love to re-home them together, however, because they are completely different in nature and needs, they could be adopted separately.

Dusty is a de-sexed 2-year-old female Fox Terrier x Staffy. She is quite wary of human strangers, until you acquire her trust, then she becomes the sweetest little loving girl who is also smart, energetic and loves the beach. She socialises well with other dogs.

Honey is a de-sexed 8-year-old female Miniature Dachshund. She’s a bit lazy and prefers to snuggle with her humans on the couch (or in bed) but enjoys the beach once encouraged there. She’s adorable with people & children and looks like butter wouldn’t melt, but she’s a rampaging dispatcher of wildlife if let loose and is not particularly friendly with other dogs. She needs to be walked on a leash and contained in a fenced yard or verandah.

When Honey was a tiny pup, her mum accidently ripped off one of her ears which also damaged the canal, rendering her deaf in that ear.
