SEVEN UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

7-month-old Red Heeler ‘Seven’ has been adopted by his adoring foster carers.

Jamie loves dogs, but her partner Nick has never had a dog or been interested in dogs. Jamie talked Nick into fostering, that way she could both help a rescue organisation and enjoy the company of a foster dog.

When I rocked up with Seven, Jamie exclaimed “oh he’s gorgeous… what a shame we’re really not ready to take on a dog full-time, because I’ve always loved and wanted a Red Heeler!”

Seven began working his magic pretty quickly. He settled right away, loved his twice daily off-leash romps at the local dog-beach, learned to play well with other dogs, came when called (mostly – training sessions are scheduled) and very happily enjoyed his own company when left at home alone.

One day I rang Jamie to organise a meet-up with a prospective adopter. Once again she exclaimed “oh my goodness, I’ll have to speak with Nick and get back to you”……  sometime later that day Jamie confirmed “yes, both Nick and I are 100% certain we want to adopt Seven. We both absolutely love him and Nick is a completely changed person… Seven goes to work with Nick every day and he can’t imagine life without Seven anymore. One morning we wondered where Seven had gone… we couldn’t find him anywhere… finally we found him in the back of Nick’s Ute, all ready to head off to work”.

Seven is joyful. He loves other dogs and humans alike and enthusiastically with wiggling body and aeroplane tail, greets everyone he meets. He’s become a local beach favourite and keeps everyone entertained with his impressive acrobatics.

Thanks Jamie & Nick, for providing this darling boy with such a lively and nurtured life  😍🐶😍

Meet sweet-boy ‘Seven’, a 6-month-old male Red Heeler puppy.

Seven has been endlessly patient & gentle with a young childs inappropriate behavior toward him for many months. Mum realised, to protect Seven from finally reacting, he needed to be surrendered and re-homed.
Now in foster-care, Seven is proving to be one very smart lad. He’s loving off-leash walks & playtime at the beach, has quickly got the hang of playing well with other dogs and has learnt good re-call with treats.
Seven is super sweet, an absolute cutie and very playful. He will need ongoing training and lots of fun & exercise. He’s also a good boy when left at home alone.
