HONEY BEAR UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

3-year-old female Siberian Husky x Australian Dingo ‘Honey Bear’ was surrendered to BDR because of her serial escapism antics and her persistent high-pitch howling due to being kept outside.

Karen, who had fostered for BDR previously, very bravely offered to foster Honey Bear because her property in Mullumbimby has 6-foot fences and Honey Bear would be allowed inside.

At first super nervous, standoffish and wary of new people and her new home, Honey Bear very quickly settled with Karen, her grandson Felix and ‘Sirius Black’ the resident Pomeranian.

Honey Bear absolutely adores being inside with her new pack and made herself completely comfortable. She behaved like an angel when she had her professional wash and blow-dry and walks well on-leash, so long as Karen or Felix speed walk  😆

Although Honey Bear has the aloofness of a Dingo/Husky and the massive instinctual yearning for freedom, she is also absolutely lovely and exceeded all our expectations by relaxing, enjoying and becoming so sweet and loving … which is why Karen & Felix have fallen deeply in love and decided to adopt.

As their bond grows stronger and stronger, Karen is now providing Honey Bear with imperative re-call training and off-leash exercise at the beach.

Unending thanks and gratitude to you Karen – you have performed miracles with this gorgeous girl and your bravery and perseverance with such a wild breed has been beyond our expectations 🙏💖
