JACK UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

Little old scruffy Terrier x Cattle Dog ‘Jack’ was swept away from a life of torment by the horrendous flood waters.

Scooped from those terrifying waters by kind-hearted saviours, Jack then began an amazing journey of melting hearts and enjoying maximum love and care.

Many thanks to foster-carers Tania & Louis who literally showered Jack with love and medicated shampoo, and kept him safe and calm while he learned to trust humans again.

Animal lovers Ash, Cameron & kids had heard about poor little Jack’s ordeal and were super swift to meet him, fall in love and adopt him. They even organised a gorgeous adoption-day party where we all enjoyed food, drinks and a Jack-look-a-like cake!!

Jack is unreservedly revelling in his new loved-up life; his fresh jaunty bandy-legged stride is a marvel to witness, he’s become best mates with Ash & Cam’s other CAWI rescue dog ‘Turtle’ and he gets to sleep with the family in abject luxury.

How completely gratifying it is to help transform an innocent animal’s life from anguish and suffering to absolute joy and pleasure  💞🐶💞

UPDATE: 👍😃 After desex and recovery, Jack will be heading off on an adoption trial with huge softie, Ashleigh & family 🙏💛

Many thanks to the folk who scooped ‘Jack’ from the floodwaters!

Many thanks to the Emergency Vets who fixed him up after he was attacked by dogs, subsequent to his rescue! (This, more than likely due to him being an intact male).

And many thanks to Sara, who looked after him beautifully until BDR could place him in tender loving foster-care, because his previous owner threatened to shoot him if he was returned.

Jack, a 12-15-year-old Terrier x Cattle Dog has now been vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and thoroughly enjoyed a soothing warm bath.

What a life this poor little dude has endured. Chained for years, his neck has no hair and several wounds where his tight collar had worn and chaffed. He suffers chronic skin disorders, more than likely from a lifetime of untreated fleas, itching and scratching.

And yet, he is adorable with humans and other dogs, is quickly recovering from a very traumatic week and is now loving his walks, high-grade raw food and lots of warm affection. Although elderly, Jack is exhibiting a sprightly demeanour and isn’t averse to playing with a ball.

Although completely devastating and disastrous for so many, the flood waters swept this little guy away and into a brand new life where he will only ever bask in love, comfort and care for the rest of his time.

After returning excellent blood-work, Jack is scheduled for desexing next week and will then be available for adoption. Please contact Shell on 0458461935.
