JESSIE UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

We’re obviously just a little too good at matching dogs with humans, as Jessie is our 5thFOSTER-FAIL this month!!  (We are now hoping to hear from more folk who would love to help a rescue dog in need 🙏).

4yo Border Collie x Cattle Dog ‘Jessie’ was surrendered to us because she received a nuisance barking order against her; basically, her previous family were unable to meet her needs.

Jessie had always been an outside-only dog and craved more attention, company and stimulation. She was bored silly, but nevertheless possesses the most calm and sweet temperament.

Sarah & Steve and their two lovely animal-loving daughters offered to foster Jessie, so long as barking didn’t become a problem. We guaranteed they would have no issues so long as Jessie’s needs were met…

… EASY! Sarah takes Jessie to the beach every morning for an off-leash romp. The girls take her and their other dog, 13yo Jack Russell ‘Peggy’, for a daily afternoon walk. Jessie now lives inside where she has her own luxurious beds AND gets to sleep on the girls’ beds at night!! Little old grumpy Peggy even begrudgingly allows Jessie to stealthily sneak into her bed on occasions 😆. Jessie and the family also attend classes at Dogly Training and she cleverly won the Doggie Dash and Musical Sit last weekend 🏆.

Jessie has now been with the family for 2½ months and hasn’t barked once!!

Sarah’s messages were clear; “We loooove Jessie” “she is soooooo gorgeous 😍“ and hence, Jessie became a confirmed family member on Friday 💃🤸

Jessie is in heaven! She absolutely loves her new family and her looks of adoration for Sarah are simply heart-melting.

So very proud of you clever girl👏🤩

🌺 JESSIE ADOPTION or FOSTER 🌺

4½-year-old desexed female Border Collie x Cattle Dog ‘Jessie’ is needing a new home or a foster family (she is currently in temporary foster-care for one week only).

Jessie is a lovely natured affectionate girl who gets on well with other dogs and is gentle and playful with children.

If Jessie’s needs are being met (adequate exercise, mental stimulation, being a valued and included member of the family pack) she is a perfect companion. She is well behaved off-leash and loves to play ball and swim.

She can be timid with strangers BUT NEVER reactive or aggressive. Jessie was diagnosed with IMPA (immune-mediated polyarthritis) but has not and does not suffer symptoms unless she gets super stressed. She comes with medication, which she has received no more than once or twice yearly.

Jessie is a honey who deserves a wonderful life with a wonderful loving companion or family.
