BILLIE UPDATE – SUCCESSFULLY ADOPTED

Beautiful Billie the 16-month-old Border Collie x Kelpie has found her new loving and dynamic home.

Little puppy Billie, was originally saved from a farmers bullet. She was soon after rescued by her rescuers, from the snatch & grab of a python… it’s little wonder Billie had developed some fear behaviours.

Her previous owners/rescuers adore her, but after one of Billie’s fear-induced incidents involving their young grandchild, they decided with heavy hearts that she needed to be re-homed to a more suitable situation.

Princess Billie was introduced to a number of very interested and appropriate folk. She snubbed them completely. However, as soon as she entered Rachel’s property in Mullumbimby, her tail began wagging and her body wiggled with sheer excitement.

She rounded the corner of the house, spotted Rachel waiting on the verandah, and ran to her like they were long lost friends. Hugs and kisses abounded. Amazing. The deal was sealed.

With advice from us and the wonderful Furry Dogmother Lissie, Rachel is managing Billie’s fear behaviours well. Rachel said she cannot imagine life without gorgeous Billie and that she is adapting to her new home splendidly. “She is divine!”

Billie’s previous folk are sad, but thrilled with Rachel and the new full and active life Billie is enjoying.

Beautiful 14-month-old Border Collie x Kelpie ‘Billie’ is unfortunately looking for a new home.

She is a much-loved dog who has regrettably grown overly protective and has developed a bad habit of lunging for young dogs and small children who get too close to her current owners. They are rightfully concerned for the safety of their grandchildren.

Billie is otherwise great with other dogs, likes cats and has only ever wanted to herd chickens. She walks well on her gentle-leader harness, sits, drops and stays and will respond extremely well to further training.

She’s not a big barker and she loves the beach where she enthusiastically fetches balls & sticks and digs in the sand.

Billie has a sweet, loving temperament and will need plenty of mental stimulation and exercise.
